Working in the jewelry industry gives you a unique appreciation for the polarizing, time-bending brooch. I’m dedicating a lot more of my 1stDibs/Etsy scrolling time to vintage brooches. I’m obsessed with these right now:

And based on the Oscars this past weekend, I’m not the only one with the obsession. A man in a brooch on the red carpet used to signal he had taste, and a supreme sense of style. He knew the power a small little accessory held. It gave life and a voice to his look. Don’t get me wrong—a perfectly tailored tux is superb in its own right (hello, Andrew Garfield), but you add a custom Kwiat and Fred Leighton pin a la Kieran Culkin and now you have something special. This year, however, it seems like every stylist got the memo: No brooch? No good.

Brooches galore! Enjoy some of my faves:

On the hunt for the perfect brooch? Text me, I probably have it in a cart somewhere…
